Welcome to Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School!

Dear MLK Families, Scholars, Staff, and Community,

Welcome to a new school year at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School! It is with great excitement, gratitude, and humility that I welcome you as the proud Principal of this incredible school.

At MLK, we believe that every scholar has unlimited potential, and it is our mission to ensure that every child is challenged, supported, and inspired each day. Together, we will create a learning environment where scholars not only achieve academic excellence but also develop the intelligence, character, and perseverance needed to succeed in school and in life.

Our school is built on the belief that One School. One Family. One Purpose. is more than just a slogan—it is the foundation of everything we do. We are committed to building strong relationships with our families, empowering our dedicated staff, and partnering with our community to provide the very best opportunities for every scholar who walks through our doors.

As we begin this exciting journey together, our vision is clear: to cultivate a culture of high expectations, meaningful learning, strong character, and unwavering support. Every decision we make will be centered on what is best for our scholars because they deserve nothing less than excellence.

Whether you are returning to MLK or joining our Falcon Family for the first time, know that you are valued, appreciated, and welcomed. I encourage you to stay involved, communicate with us often, and join us as we work together to make this our best year yet.

I am honored to serve this amazing community alongside our outstanding Assistant Principal, Ms. Tanisha Strode, and our dedicated faculty and staff. Together, we will continue to build a school where every scholar feels safe, loved, challenged, and empowered to soar.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. We cannot wait to see all that our scholars will accomplish this year.

Welcome to The King—where Falcons Soar Through Intelligence, Character, and Perseverance!

With Falcon Pride,

Mr. Dannon Bedwell
Principal
